Curio Bay and Porpoise Bay are situated on the Catlins coast, about 88 kms south-east of Invercargill and 7 kms south of Waikawa.
Curio Bay is signposted from the Southern Scenic Route, which follows State Highway 92 through the Catlins from Invercargill to Balclutha.
The fossilised remains of an ancient forest is exposed at Curio Bay during low tide. It stretches about 20 kms from Curio
The Catlins has many endangered species and wildlife not found in other parts of the world.

Check out the Yellow-Eyed Penguin, Hectors Dolphins, Bellbirds,Tuis, ‘Hooker’ Sealions, Fur Seals, Blue Penguins, Fern Birds, Mohua, wild deer and pigs in this remote part of New Zealand.
