The Catlins has many endangered species and wildlife not found  in other parts of the world.

Department of Conservation NZ, has done a great job of providing lookouts, tracks, conservation areas and interpretive signage throughout the pristine Catlins Conservation Coastal Rainforest Park.

Check out the Yellow-Eyed Penguin, Hectors Dolphins, Bellbirds,Tuis, ‘Hooker’ Sealions, Fur Seals, Blue Penguins, Fern Birds, Mohua, wild deer and pigs in this remote part of New Zealand.
